Meet the Artist - Kia Breanne
Kia Breanne is a contemporary painter based in New York exploring memory, cultural inheritance, and everyday life within Caribbean and Black communities.
Rooted in her Vincentian heritage, she works primarily in acrylic, drawing from lived experience, archival family photographs, and stories from her community to depict the people, environments, and small moments that shape her world.
Her paintings act as contemporary archives, blending inherited and retold memories into layered compositions that honor communities historically underrepresented in fine art. Gold leaf moves through her work as intricate patterning and halos, a signature element that elevates everyday figures and imbues them with reverence, presence, and care.
Through color, texture, and storytelling, Breanne invites viewers to encounter familiarity, belonging, and cultural continuity, offering collectors not only stunnig works, but enduring connections to memory, lineage, and a sense of home.
